As young citizens of the present and decision makers of the future, youth have an important role to play today in the conservation wetlands. The Youth Engagement Thematic Group connects people from around the world interested in exploring the role of youth in the management and wise use of wetlands.
Objectives of the Thematic Group:
- Collate information on youth engagement relating to culture and wetlands to learn about the motivations and challenges
- Develop some lessons learned and suggestions for integration into the Ramsar Convention’s policies and practices
- Explore new and enhanced ways of engaging young people around the subject of culture and wetlands

- OBJECTIVE COP 13 – explore ways of engaging young people in the Convention’s processes including for COP13 (Dubai, 2018)
- A MENTORING PROGRAMME – pair up young professionals with other members in the Ramsar Culture Network for a multigenerational dialogue
